Alternative Armies

The Alternate Armies mercenary camp is renown throughout the world, especially for its continuing contributions to the wars of Bonaparte and his elvish equivalent, Mordred.

Hiring cost: Almost 10 US Dollars/ 6 Pounds.

Adiken

If there is one vale of the new world I dare not cross, it is the vale of Adiken. It is so crooked in there that the trolls in employment to the thieves’ guild are the straightest things there. From their appearance, I can easily tell that these brothers of mine tried to audition for parts in Peter Jackson's Lord of The Rings films. For a reason I can possibly fathom, they believed they had to dress up as extras from Gladiator.

Hiring cost: Almost 10 US Dollars/ 6 Pounds.

Viking Forge

Another settlement of blacksmiths has been constantly raided by the Norse, and thus has become known as the Viking Forge. The raiding is so constant, that they have no alternative than to hire some trolls for extra security. The owners seem to prefer very barbaric ones with large gutting jaws.

Hiring cost: Very cheap. Will practically fight for food.

Armalion

There is a shadow within the Armalion valley of Germany, and many creatures of good and evil, flock towards it. People say that the source of this force is a terrible Dark Eye, who mustn’t be confused with Sauron, although the similarities are obvious. The trollkin found there have grown tall, thin and proud. It almost makes me jealous.

Hiring cost: Up to 20 US Dollars/ 11 Pounds.

Mirliton/Grenadier

In the region of Mirliton, once known as the abode of the Grenadiers Guild, it is a bit difficult to distinguish between trolls and other gigantic humanoid, which I must say has caused some embarrassing situations the last time I visited. All are broad and well built, but there is no mistaking the long-winding faces of the trollkin there.

Hiring cost: Between 10 & 15 US Dollars/ 5 & 8 Pounds.

Black Tree Design

It must be a wicked entity, if this Black Tree has Designs for things, especially my kind. A veritable family reunion is there to be found under its branches, from the Aquarian, to a scaly bunch of relatives that have grown horns. There are also disaffected half-trolls still looking for employment after the huge rave on the Pellenor Fields.

Hiring cost: Varies a lot, from slightly more than 5 to less than 30 US Dollars/ 17 Pounds.

Grim Reaper

A tribe of close cousins of mine happen to live near the abodes of the Grim Reaper himself. Some are fairly muscular in composition and tend to dress up in quite a fancy way for troll-kin. Others have chosen to obey their inner nature, and so dress and eat as they please.

Note that the Grim Reaper website no longer seems to exist. However, one can still find these trolls at Discount Hobbies.

Hiring cost: Very cheap. Will practically fight for food.

Metal Magic

The Metal Magic Hills are renowned for their overabundance of stock throughout the world. Such quantity of precious ores and food abound that all nature of beings are attracted to the lush hills. Many different families of my kin and of ogres can be found foraging nearby.

Hiring cost: Very cheap. Will practically fight for food.

Lance & Laser

Imagine if you would a gigantic chessboard, one that spans time and space, where unknown gods pit lance and laser one against the other. In this weird centre point of reality, many of my kin have been sucked up. Some are slimy, some humongous, and some even sport beaks for their heads.

Hiring cost: Very cheap. Will practically fight for food.

Zvezda

From the famous Russian Zvezda steppes comes Cousin Ivan. I do believe that he suffers from Anus Midasis, which might explain his looks. Fortunately, it is not gold but plastic that all he touches becomes. Too bad he clapped his hands before doing anything else...

Hiring cost: Between 10 & 15 US Dollars/ 5 & 8 Pounds.

Essex

I cannot vouch for the men of Essex, but the trolls that live there have developed such a sense of physical proportions as to render Cyrano de Bergerac a Greco-roman sculpture.

Hiring cost: Between 10 & 15 US Dollars/ 5 & 8 Pounds.
