There are several ranges still sold by Foundry, including the ones posted by Bronny, that are that old and still really rather good. They are smaller than most modern figures but, with multiple different forces available, that doesn't really matter. AB figures were founded in 1990 and the 15mm Napoleonics they produced then are still among the best available. There must be others.

Some of the early Citadel stuff was excellent, and I am rather partial to the Joseph Ochmann 15mm sculpts that have variously, been sold by Gladiator, Black Hat, Metal Magic and others since the mid 80s.

Age is no bar to quality though in general, the quality has improved over time. There were some truly hideous figures being sold 30 years ago, (and in some cases are still sold).

But they did imply that being thirty years old was a bar to interest, even if you liked torture porn - hence my post and Pat missing the point.
Also: 'in a scale nobody uses'? Bollocks
The quality is crap and the subject vile
but as Pat so wittily intimated: they are different things.

I'll agree with you on all that.

Then I'll see your Feudals from 1986 and raise you the (also Perry sculpted) Wars of Religion range from 1983. https://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collect ... -1560-1610

Yeah, it's very easy to be tough and confrontational in the face of an old man in a wheel chair.
We can all do that.
But if he was young, fit, and able to wipe the floor with you?
I wonder if you'd be such a principled gobshite to his face?

And I wonder why you take his rantings so seriously and let them bother you that you want to have a face-to-face confrontation with him?
Anyone else would just ignore his comments for what they are - the ramblings of a bitter old man.
You're too highly strung, Mac.

Nope. I just think it would be a giggle, considering that the “old man in the wheel chair” (he isn’t in a wheel chair, btw) keeps on threatening folks and is begging for people to say the things they say to his face. I am not sniping behind Ralph’s back. I’ll happily say what I say to his face and let the chips fall where they will.

I am no spring chicken myself and, besides, I never had any training as a special forces nuclear demolitions transport pool death comando. All things considered, I am no threat to Ralph and there’s always the chance he might catch me and sit on me.

(Actually, it’d be scarier if he WAS in a wheelchair: all that bulk and poor impulse control motorized? )

You know what, I believe you.
You're that much of a psycho cyber stalker I truly do believe you spend as much time as you can looking people up on the internet trying to find out as much as you can so you can threaten them.
I believe you do.

However, my desire to keep you from knowing my residence is not dependent on whether or not you actually did.

I don’t relish the thought of finding you pantless and yammering incoherently on my flowerbed late at night.

You never complained about that before! Now I feel unloved and unappreciated!

Copplestone’s stuff has aged well, indeed.

Denizen is still among the most exquisite sculpts I've seen. Too bad they are a true 25mm.

I finished some Ral Partha Etruscan heavy cavalry just this evening. Nice clean and well proportioned sculpts.
Some of the Hinchliffe(?) Greek heavy cavalry I painted alongside the Ral Partha figures have aged very badly, but I needed them to round out the unit.

There are still some gems in amongst the older sculpts, and I'm happy to use 25mm figures. If I was starting from scratch nowadays I would be using the bigger 28mm figures.
I Froth because I care about miniatures.
