Thought the 'Van Gogh was the greatest artist ever!' nonsense was a bit overdone. Though thats probably got more to do with me not being much of a fan.

Overall the ep was pretty dull and I dont hold out much hope of enjoying next weeks either. Not to worry, since I'll be able to then watch us trounce the yanks at football. :D

Nope. It got to me the first time through. Then watched it again with the missus and kept my composure. She liked it; thought it was the best so far, actually.

The invisible monster was rather silly. Not so much the monster, but the effect on the visible world: "Oh, we'll pull this stick over to show it's going this way!"

Best bits: the Doctor's boredom with experienceing normal linear time; his compassion for the pathos of not being able to "fix" things, while seeing the goodness of simple acts of kindness (also pathos in the sense of triumph over suffering).

What I didn't get was the information at the end for what sounded like counseling services. Was this expected to be awfully traumatic in some way? Or is it standard when there's a reference to suicide in a program?

Oh, and I didn't think Bill Nighy was wasted at all.

I enjoyed it - a little too "cosy" at times perhaps, and I kept thinking that the Dr was channeling just a little too much "Hugh Grant in Four Weddings", but I quite liked the change of tone from normal Who.

I wonder what the mirror/recognising machine will make of Amy's true form?

That. And gingerism.

A vestige of the previous government's creation of the nanny state.

Oh, and I disagree about Nighy, he was terribly wasted.

I hope this was sarcasm.

Keep hoping. Personally, I find these messages after programmes, especially fictional ones, to be somewhat insulting to the intelligence of the viewer.
