Fun episode. Did anyone else think it was also a gentle WH40k piss take? Emperor, imperial guard played by actors who look like your stereotypical GW customer.

Can't say I'm losing sleep over the regeneration issue - there's still two regenerations left and as long as we don't get any more one series wonders we should still get a good few more years of Who. Besides, as he's the last of the Timelords, all bets are off about limited regenerations.

Really? I think all in all the last five episodes have been pretty good, bar the crappy ending to "Journey to the Centre of the Tardis". My favourite has to be "Cold War".

Yep, I've really wanted to enjoy it but struggled until the last two.

Could be. Could be a callback to the Ninth's reference to the 3rd Roman Empire from the first season of New Who.

It looks like they put a bit more effort into the uniforms for the "Romans" than they did for the "Templars" from that angels episode.

I thought they looked cheap and naff.

Yeah, not impressed by the 'uniforms', but I guess they were supposed to look amateurish and such.
I loved the use of a Cyberman as the chess laying Turk - a good touch that - and thought that Matt Smith played a blinder as a duelling doctor/cyberplanner.
The Cybermen were actually menacing, as opposed to the big stompy twats they've been since the 80s, which was nice.

Yeah Smith was good playing the duel role, but I don't like the Borg collective Cybermen. The superfast upgraded one
just felt so gimmicky.
Really miss the days of the scheming Cybermen rather than the constant deleting lark.

Yeah, agreed - a bit too Borgy I suppose.
