These actually look pretty good (I've not been impressed with their stuff so far).

Guns, limbers, caissons et cetera actually make sense in plastic

They do look good. The only Victrix I've been really impressed with are their Greeks, but these look the DBs.

I'm trying really, really hard to resist getting load of their Greeks but they look so lovely all painted in close order with overlapping shields...

For good sculpts yes. Financially? Not convinced. How many guns does an army need in this period? Not the same savings possible as with hundreds of infantry and cavalry figures. Added to this every army has it's own models of guns in a plethora of calibres and differences in uniforms for regiments plus period variants... Looks like an area where metal models make a lot of sense to me.

I'll probably get a box just to be sure...

Look nice for renders. Nobody going to get all angry about vapourware? If the end product looks like that then they'll be rather good.

not sure what's happened around here but there was no bloop-con 5 on the thread with the minions miniatures either!!

Calmer or almost dead? Sometimes I do wonder. Perhaps that thread in the frothpot is keeping all the anger contained?
