Matt Gubser just finished this Enteledont for Forge of Ice:

It's 28mm scale, about 35mm from the bottom of the hoof to the top of the shoulder.

I should have it cast up and for sale some time after Christmas. Hopefully round about the same time I get my damn website sorted out... until then I'm mostly just updating the Facebook page ( Facebook.com/ForgeOfIce )

Entelodonts, sometimes nicknamed hell pigs or terminator pigs, are an extinct family of pig-like omnivores endemic to forests and plains of North America, Europe, and Asia from the middle Eocene to early Miocene epochs (37.2—16.3 million years ago), existing for about 21 million years

When I was reading about the Entelodont, doing research, my favorite bit of trivia I ran across was a comment about how ancient camel bones have been found with Entelodont tooth marks on them.

It's a prehistoric predatory warthog that's bigger than a rhinoceros, and it eats camels! What's not to love??

Well, with some flesh (including ears) on it's head instead of an Evil Eddie expression, yeah.

Huh. Ears! Yeah. I'll have to take a close look at the green when it arrives.

Not a warthog, sadly. More closely related to hippos and cetaceans, and to Andrewsarchus, which has usually been seen as wolf-like but is recently being reimagined as more, well, entelodonty. :)

By the way, the camel bones its tooth marks are found on were from a rather small extinct camel.

And yes, it had ears and some flesh on its head. The body's ok, but I'm afraid the head's dire. Here's a nice restoration:

Well, yes, they were tiny camels, but pointing that out just makes the Entelodont sound less badass. "It ate camels!" sounds more interesting than "It ate tiny camels!"

...

Actually, I take that back. "Tiny camels" *DOES* sound interesting!

The Warthog comment is more a physical descriptor than a taxonomic one. They do look rather a lot like giant warthogs.

I'm having master castings made to be sent back to the sculptor for conversion & reposing. I'm planning on having at least one extra head made and a second pose of the body done. Ears (and perhaps a bit more flesh) will be added to the skull at that time.

I think that is a nice beastie and could be used in fantasy or sci-fi games. Who gives a shit if it looks 100% like an animal no one has ever seen. Reconstructions are just that, reconstructions. They are never 100% accurate so don't worry about a miniature one.
When I die I want the Arsenal players to lower me into my grave so they can let me down one last time.
