The mini only pledge is just not worth it.

for the £155 pledge you get the same amount of add-ons i.e. £105 PLUS all the figures in the boxed game which is about £100 at the moment based on the add-on prices.

So spend £100 and get £105

OR

spend £155 and get over £200 + extras (£10 extra credit, free figures, etc)

I keep thinking about this one but it's just too much money to drop to get a decent amount of the figs so I'm out...

Personally I won't even use the marines from the game, because I have other minis that I prefer. I've never been too fond of the design used for the Colonial Marines, truth be told.

Was more concerned by the size of the aliens...has anyone got a size comparison photo against a non-GW/Warzone miniature?

You can get a sense of their size comparing them to the bases they are mounted on. And from that they look very big. Completely uncompatible with Leading Edge; fairly good match to Horrorclix aliens (that were 35mm scale).
Quadruped aliens are smaller and fit on a 30mm base. But bipedals are on a 40mm base!
The Warzone minis that I own (Colonial light infantry) are 32-35mm high.

Als xeno aliens are quite tall if they stand up ... in the first film when Kane gets killed the creature towers over him.

Seven feet high (it was the height of the man in the rubber suit), aprox.

Unlocked for £35, 120mm tall on a 80mm base.

The horrorclix one (I have two) is 65mm high...

Let me do some research (googling) to see how big an alien queen is supposed to be.
