Admittedly from Wiki so might need better sourcing but "When standing fully upright on its hind legs, a large male could reach a height of 3 m (10 ft)" and it's on a ledge a good 9-10" off the floor to start with...

Assuming Mr. Bibby is around 1.75m, the sculpture would be ~3.25m tall. And if he was around 2m, it would be almost 4m!

I did go and google kodiak bears (and there was an option for standing), and most of the human heads reached up to the kodiak's shoulders. Of course, how tall are they?

I saw some dead bears in the natural history museum years ago ... they were taller than me ... quite a bit ... ten feet maybe ... definately eight plus a bit.

Never heard of a Kodiak bear though. Maybe they are particularly tall or big?

It's sculpted in "1:1 heroic scale". That's all.

Kodiak are a sub-species of brown bear that live, unsurprisingly in Kodiak. They and polar bears are the two largest land carnivores on Earth (they overlap in size). They do get much larger than mainland brown, or 'Grizzly' bear. A male can easily be 10ft standing on its hind legs.

By total coincidence saw a polar bear in the background in the episode of the Mentalist that I just watched and it was easily ten feet. Caught my eye after reading this earlier.
