This is where typing 'Kodiak bear' into google images would show people it's pretty spot on. Maybe a larger example but certainly not unrealistically big. I'd post some of the pictures but most are of dead Kodiak bears with hunters that have killed them. Certainly confirms the scale of the beasts though, they are huge.

Having come face to face with a black bear in PA, I certainly didn't stop to think if it had larger relatives or not . . .

 I looked at the topic title and thought "Ah, Mike's done a kodiak bear! I wonder if it's much like Nick Bibby's"

I have his site in my bookmarks. Every so often I look at it, cry, and think about throwing away my sculpting tools.

This.

I'm hoping to die and be reincarnated as Nick Bibby...

That's a big bear. Not out of the question in size.

Maybe it's 'heroic scale'?

I'm a Bibby fan for sure. I think that probably the bear is at the top end of what a Kodiak should be size-wise but that's okay.

Cripes that's big. Would need more than a sharpened stick to fend that fucker off.

Also, have a look at Steve Austin's Komodo dragon video on U-tube (find it your fucking selves) to see how ferocious them bastards are too. It must have been a massive pile of gash for humans living in pre-historic times before the invention of 7.62mm AK47 and stuff.

Cleveland loves their football team, it's true, but not enough to name a university after them! :)

It's Brown University, in Rhode Island.
