Sunday will be the 40th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. There's more to come -- the T-55 will be released next week, and so will the Mag-ach 6 (the M60A1). The Sho't Kal (sometimes called the Panturion, as it was a Centurion with the M60A1 Patton's engine and rear engine deck), both Mark 3 and Mark 5, will be released in the next week or two as well. Then will come the Egyptian assault infanry in their leather jerkins and of course the Israeli infantry.
Already made and in the casting queue are the BMP-1 which had an inauspicious debut in the war, the BTR-60, and the BTR-152. Further down will be the Mag-ach 3 (M48 with 105mm gun upgrade). Then the Israeli APCs, the M113 and the venerable M3 halftrack. Future releases may include the Skilka and other support vehicles, trucks and so on.
Because these are useful as Cold War forces Soviet and NATO infantry will eventually be made for the late 60s to late 70s. Neil Burt at Troop of Shewe painted this tank as a Syrian vehicle from 1973, of the 1st Armoured Division.
