T-62 tank

Postby Khurasanminiatures » Fri Oct 04, 2013 2:52 pm

We've just released our 15mm (1/100 scale) T-62 tank to go with our Yom Kippur War range as well as our modern North Koreans. It's a mix of resin and pewter and also comes in sets of three (platoon) or ten (company).

Sunday will be the 40th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. There's more to come -- the T-55 will be released next week, and so will the Mag-ach 6 (the M60A1). The Sho't Kal (sometimes called the Panturion, as it was a Centurion with the M60A1 Patton's engine and rear engine deck), both Mark 3 and Mark 5, will be released in the next week or two as well. Then will come the Egyptian assault infanry in their leather jerkins and of course the Israeli infantry.

Already made and in the casting queue are the BMP-1 which had an inauspicious debut in the war, the BTR-60, and the BTR-152. Further down will be the Mag-ach 3 (M48 with 105mm gun upgrade). Then the Israeli APCs, the M113 and the venerable M3 halftrack. Future releases may include the Skilka and other support vehicles, trucks and so on.

Because these are useful as Cold War forces Soviet and NATO infantry will eventually be made for the late 60s to late 70s. Neil Burt at Troop of Shewe painted this tank as a Syrian vehicle from 1973, of the 1st Armoured Division.

I've had a lot of stuff from Khurasan and, fingers' crossed, not been done by bastard Customs so would have no hesitation in buying direct; I've said this before but it bares repeating.... he uses minimal packaging and although he, quite rightly, fills the Custom's form in accurately, his handwriting is small and untidy making it difficult to read

Also remember he's a one-man band and there, probably, isn't the margin for trade/distribution discounts

I've also ordered from kurashan directly and kept the order around 50€, the service was excellent and had no problem with portuguese customs...

but one never knows...

Unfortunately as Jon mentions the margins for 15mm are not enough to allow me to sell to the trade. Sometimes the trade discount is bigger than my profit margin!

I have more customers in the UK than in the states though, it's amazing how big the UK market is....

Typical!

There is so much crap casting and sculpting in the states, yet when they get a diamond they don't buy
At least it's good to know that the Brits recognise quality and do buy from you

The USAers probably don't like the idea of you making soviet stuff (and in such great detail)

not 'Merican enough for them
