Lovely minis but wow,postage is a real deal killer.

Wouldn't it be nice if a company just released a range of figures and let you buy the ones you wanted? I know it's a radical idea, but someone should give it a go, it's just crazy enough to work.

I'd go for a KS pledge level that only got you the KS exclusive minis at a slight mark up.

I hope I'm getting this one in my package but as usual with KS I quickly forget exactly what was in my pledge.

Well, you could always get the Gorgon Studios one as a consolation price, it's good too.

It does make you wonder. There are 544 backers for this KS. So, limit the total number of people who can buy it to 544 (plus or minus the few who join in now) and never sell it again. OK. I'm all for KS exclusives that people get as freebies because they pledge, but I don't get the idea of KS exclusives that will never be made available. If I get my copy free, I don't give a toss if the company then sells it after the KS. However, I'm sure someone will moan that that's not fair, blah, blah, blah.

I suppose it's a question of whether it brings in more revenue if people want the exclusive bits. Available individually I'd have bought the three LE models on here, but in the end I couldn't justify to myself spending the cash on a whole load of stuff I wouldn't use. A lot of the other stretch goals look like they'll end up being very useful when they're out, but were only up for grabs as addons in the KS, so I'll wait and see.

There are only 300 or so backers at a high enough level to get these LEs, so I guess I'll never see them.

Same deal with the Northstar OGAM thing - make what i want to buy available and I'll send you my cash - make me buy a load of shit i don't want to get it and I won't.

Well, and they'd be right. There is something to be said for keeping one's word. If Croc said they were limited to KS backers only, then changed the game, they'd be injecting false scarcity into the investment decision, and then selling to all of us later to play both sides. That'd be shitty of them, and anyone who bought in thinking they were limited would have a right to get pissed.

Does that mean I think ltd ed runs are a good idea? no, i'd prefer that companies made things available whenever. But I respect their freedom to do buisiness how they see fit, and would rather have them be consistent and upfront about it than be shady.

I wasn't suggesting they change it now, just that the original decision to limit it was stupid.
