(JoeK Mini) WIP - big chap.
Well, it's high time I put up an early WIP of the next figure really. In between painting lots of stuff for Alex and the Arcworlde Kickstarter (woo-hoo!), and the long term development of my little zO range (games, figures, boards, cards etc...would help if I knew what a GAME was :p), this is the next big thing coming your way.
I should give a background. A little while ago, I emailed Paul Bonner to see how he would feel about doing some commission work for me. Alas, he - very kindly - replied he was too busy, but gave me his blessing to use some of his works as the basis for a figure. However, because of the nature of what he does - inasmuch as the majority of his work is commissioned from him, it's not as easy to just do something without getting all the right permissions. Certainly not if I were to sell it!
Now, I absolutely the work Paul did for the Swedish game Dragons and Demons. It's all very much steeped in Scandanvian folk lore - so dragons, big burly warriors, and nasty trolls all doing what they do. So, Paul put me in touch with the head of Riotminds (who own the game), and very quickly after permission was granted and that was the start!
I got into contact with Roberto Chaudon, who is the willing participant in the sculpting orders and work has begun!
He's a very early WIP:

He's big. Bigger than any figure I've done before - around about 62mm+ in my usual scales. If it all goes to plan, the idea would be to have this as the main figure, but then 'build' an equivalent scene based on the original artwork...which could prove a challenge, but seems like a fun way of spending lots of money :p .
Anyway, see what think, and hope you like enough to follow it's progress!
