Danilo Cartaccis painting miniatures is the book I tend to go back to the most, ok- a lot of it is for larger scales and in oil paint - but the techniques are still valid - good luck finding a copy I think I got mine from the US many moons ago :?

I just want to sit down of an evening and flip through thinking "oh, that's how you do blah" "why did I never think if using blah blah blah for that effect" really.
