Western Shootout Scenarios

Postby Bronshtein » Tue Jun 12, 2018 11:48 pm

Some spectre pretending to be the Ghost of Zane Grey posted a list of western gunfights on the Sad Cunts thread in some interminable argument about gun laws (wrong thread but there you go).

Anyway 'twas the work of a moment to find where it came from:

https://www.legendsofamerica.com/old-west-gunfights/

Now a couple of years or so ago I bought some 'cowboys' from Duff (unpainted) and daubed them myself for my son and I to play (cos he'd been to a re-enactment fair where they did the OK Corral thing). PS4 came along and seduced him to the dark side so they've sat there not doing a lot since their first couple of outings.

This list made me realise I have the makings of a nice sideline (as near fantasy as I am likely to get) cheap. I have most of the figures already, here are a great set of scenarios, and rules can even be Featherstone's skirmish set. All I need is about a thousand quid's worth of western buildings! :D (or a lot of swearing, cut fingers and a couple of trips to A&E to scratch build them)

Have a look at Six Gun Sound:

The 2HW rules are an interesting small-skirmish set, there’s even a free version on the web to try out the mechanisms and you’d probably only need 3/4 buildings and some fencing to get about 7 magnificent games in. Less than £100.

Cheers LT!
Now do I celebrate having saved £900?
Or whine about having found out it is in the 'doable' range and I'm committed to another £100? :P
Oh go on :D

Some friends of mine have played many fun games with Six Gun Sound ruleset, making their own scenarios I think.

Pages of inspiring AARs (in French with many pictures) here:

(these pages were originally titled LOTOW but their group has actually been playing 6GS for years).
