Witness the reaming of Sessions for "allowing" two corrupt Republican congressman to be charged before the mid-terms. Trump has been crystal clear in oft repeated statements that the AG and DOJ exist to "protect" (his words) himself claiming that was exactly what Holder did for Obama and Bobby for Jack Kennedy. Before the classic RW "what aboutism" starts chiming in on Holder and Bobby Kennedy, the idea that the AG/DOJ exists to protect the President is both ignorant and borderline insane.

The entire Executive Branch exists to serve and protect the President.

As to the spoils system, I give up. You clearly endorse and support the very concept of corruption inherent in the charm of awarding government jobs solely for private benefit of a particular political group. Perhaps a relocation to Venezuela or Kazakhstan where the spoils system is very much alive and well would better fit your political tastes?
