Mike Rowe Finally Weighs in on the Controversial Nike Kaepernick Commercial — and It’s as Perfect as You’d Expect

“Nike’s free to celebrate whomever they wish, and Kaepernick is entitled to his opinion – kneeling, standing, or lying down.,” Rowe qualified at the beginning of his post. “But if I was going to put someone’s face on a billboard – someone who epitomized bravery and sacrifice – I might have gone another way, especially this time of year. I might have gone with this guy – Tom Burnett.”

Fuck that, the guy is a nobody. Never heard of him, unlike Kaepernick.

Nike should have had a photo of Mohammed Atta with the caption "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing 3,00 infidels", then show the plane approaching the WTC and morph it into the Nike swoosh logo with the "Just Do It" caption. Perfect!

We will be "commemorating" 9/11 in the usual way at our workplace. Put 2 cardboard boxes in the parking lot, head up to the roof with a bottle of scotch and a ream of copier paper. Whenever one of our paper airplanes hits the box, take a drink - last to down it has to run down the stairs to set one of the boxes on fire.

Great fun!

Happy 9/11 Cunts

Kaepernick had deteriorating skills, and was rumored to have “lost the locker room.” The last, maybe. The first, definitely. Then he didn’t pick up his own option on his contract, which means he quit the 49ers, with their “We wish him well in his future endeavors” as a goodbye.
I don’t see any team wanting his baggage, but apparently the Ravens and Seahawks being dumb enough to put out feelers.
I can see calling witnesses at his collusion trial where he is suing the NFL for conspiracy to not hire him.
“Coach Belichek. Why did you not try out Kaepernick?”
“I had Tom Brady and Jimmy Garopolo as backup.”
“Let me repeat my question.... Oh. Yeah. Right. For my next hostile witness....”

And a backup quarterback won the Super Bowl. :D
Eagles didn’t need Kaepernick either.
Only a team determined to remain pathetic would want him. And then all their redneck fans would boycott.

And your point is?
You’re an old guy. Do you buy Nikes?
I’m an old white guy.
I never bought any Nikes. Too expensive. And I’m even less likely to now.
But you’re right that I’m not the target audience.
And Kaepernick will never play another down in the NFL. He’s washed up and toxic.

I don't like any sport. I wear Cowboy Boots. If sport ball disappeared tonight I would not shed a tear.

That’s the point you missed. He’s someone who actually DID lose everything because of what he believed in. Not some over paid, over the hill prima dona.

Yet the one the media hypes is the one of the two least deserving by far.

But never mind, you’ll miss it anyways.
