Is there a reason / advantage to preserve the original film as opposed to digitizing it?

There are nitrate film festivals happening in the US and UK from time to time.
How dedicated a film buff are you? One of the problems with nitrate film is that it's not just flammable--the combustion process actually creates oxygen. There's an old Royal Navy training film showing a sailor holding a burning reel underwater (he was wearing an asbestos gauntlet). You can see more recent experiments on line.

I don't believe ANTIFA constitutes even a tiny fraction of the "left" and in fact are much more pure anarchist than anything actually of the left. They pretty much hate everyone and everything that seems vaguely organized in any aspect. I see them more as heirs to Bakunin than anything else.

I suspect if 18-22 year old dipshits existing on Mommy and Daddy's money were removed from ANTIFA, they might be able to have a full global membership meeting in a bus shelter.
