OFM, that has never popped up in our meetings. In fact, many of the attendees have been Jews, and our ideas have revolved around how to protect them from the hard-right "Kill the Jews" crowd, along with protecting the LGBT and African-American communities.

Damn. I had no idea I was supposed to hate Jews. I must be the worst leftist in the USA.

Not that I'm gonna agree with Winnie or nuffin' but plenty of people on the far left are anti-semitic as fuck.
It takes a different nature from the "Gas the kikes" shit the far right spew, but it's definitely there.
"The left" as some sort of single-minded entity doesn't have an opinion on Jews any more than "the right" does, because such a concept would be retarded.

Of course, if you want to see some old fashioned anti-semitism, ask a hardline conservative believer why Jews vote liberal every single time

(Bonus points if you also ask why women vote liberal)

I am going to skip the alt-right/alt-left sucks but who is worse thing and stick with a basic opinion.
If you find yourself in Charlottesville, Virginia surrounded by a bunch of assholes chanting "Jews will not replace us." and did not run far and fast in revulsion to get away from said assholes. You are an asshole.
There were not any, much less " many many" fine people involved in either the Friday Tiki Torch march or the Saturday hanging in the park because you so deeply care about Bobby Lee. If you were at either event, you were an asshole. If you think there were many fine people there, you are an asshole.
If you think that the tiny fraction of counter demonstrators that did the whole ANTIFA punch the Nazi thing somehow makes both sides equal, you are an asshole.
If you felt such moral outrage at the assholess that you felt the need to punch one, you are also an asshole because it takes true assholery to make a fucking Nazi have any grounds no matter how specious for moral equivalency.
Finally, if you are in a leadership position and you cannot cleanly say Nazi's suck without trying to balance the unbalanceable, you are an asshole that needs a new job.

May not be the same in the USA -you lack a Labour Party - but in the UK the majority of the 'left' are most definitely anti-Jewish. It wasn't always so but the propaganda by the Arab states, connections by wannabe Communist revolutionaries in the 60s/70s with people like the PLO, PFLP, Black September, and then Hammas and Hezbollah have turned much of the left into unthinking anti-Semites.
It's usually couched in terms 'I have nothing against Jews, some of my best friends are Jews running international Zionist conspiracies, but its those bastard Israelis...'
There is most definitely institutionalised anti-Semitism in British left wing politics. Corbyn has helped make the Labour Party a 'respectable' refuge for this attitude and you won't find many ordinary Jewish people keen on voting Labour until they sort this out.
I still have hopes sanity can prevail but it is looking more and more as if Labour has turned Stalinist on this issue and cannot be shifted.

The Millibands? Margaret Hodge? David Winnick? I'm sure there are other current Jewish Labour MPs.
I reckon you're seeing anti-Zionist conspiracies where there are none. Lack of support for Israel doesn't make you 'anti-Jewish'

Silly old me eh?
But apparently I'm not alone:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/08/19/labour-tolerant-anti-semitism-new-poll/I don't want to intrude much further on a US politics thread - but
http://fathomjournal.org/the-left-and-the-jews-time-for-a-rethink/I'm sure you don't see it most of the time because the trick has been worked so well.
If you call it, you are, as you say, seeing conspiracies 'where there are none'.
The 'anti-Zionist campaigners' are more insidious and more murderous in their intent than David Irving. People can see he is an arse - they believe the people who want Israel destroyed.
I see some of it even in US left wing circles.

So Brony, can you be anti-Israeli politics without being an anti-semite?
