And this has exactly what to do with pre/post elections or politics? Or is Kyote back on Peyote?

You sound like the "Stick to the issues!" guys that Rush likes to make fun of. Can't talk about your golf game, can't talk about NFL, can't talk about how the cats and dogs get along. No. It has to be Trump this and Obama that and Hillary the other thing.
Whatcha yourself or I'll bring up Jon Snow and dragon love.
Harrumph. And why haven't they elected Dolorous Edd Lord Commander yet. He deserves it.

I haven't watched Game of Thrones since grad school. It feels like ages ago, but it has been just four years since I graduated. But don't forget that Grampa Apathy also loves to badger people over climate change.

Kyote, you never try to actually talk. You just spew bumper sticker slogans, and when asked about them, you reply with a canned phrase. hard to have a conversation under those conditions.

Rebelyell

From earlier:
If I want a different viewpoint, I will talk to the OFM because he is still a reasonable person.

You could get a reasonable response from me if you were reasonable to start with. I've suggested it before and you chose to go the way of the Town Moron, making shit up even though it is easily shown, like your "there is no alt-left" that you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

and I closed with:
You disagree about my claim that you and I can have a civil conversation while disagreeing? OK let's see you prove it. What in my list above do you disagree with and why? Or you pick a topic without making up positions that I haven't taken or posts I've never made.

So... you gonna just whinge about not being able to have a reasonable conversation with me? Hell, I've had a multiple post exchange with Mac in this thread fer cripes sake and even he was able to have a reasonable conversation with me.

So is it you can't have a reasonable conversation, or that you, for whatever reason, don't want to?
I'm perfectly fine with the insult war with the Town Moron if that's what you prefer.

But it is a disingenuous lie to claim you CAN'T if the fact of the matter is you WON'T. So, what'll it be?

Dude, you waterfall spam people with links to bullshit right sites and demand they refute every one. This takes work. Especially as, occaisionally, you slip in a non-right source, a reasonable right source, or a source that is technically correct, but is being taken out of context.

This is a new tactic among the right and it is a basic ingedient in the construction of fake news. It is what allows to right to piss their pants about Hillary's e-mails but ignore the multiple slips and slides of Trump that are actually much worse for the nation.

Most of us have jobs. Some of us, like me, have jobs that actually require us to professionally parse truth from fiction. I am thus not that interested in seperating the occasional pearls from the multiple tons of bullshit you spew in the name of supporting a man and a party who, a priori, think my wife is a security threat for being latin and black.

You are a racist shit, JJ. Not a "don a hood and burn a cross" way, but in a "do anything to make nazis and racists look better without actually publically committing to them" way. And, in my life, I have to deal with so many people like you that it's not worth my while arguing with one more on a marginal forum in a marginal hobby. Sure, I'll occaisonally take the piss when you say something supremely stupid, like global warming isn't primarily being caused by humans. And yeah, I'll happily share the information that you like to fuck dogs. But it's just not worth the time and effort to refute your bullshit, particuallry on a small site where most of the people already agree that you are an ass and a bigot.

I imagine Kyote feels the same way.

... "do anything to make nazis and racists look better without acrually publically committing to them" way.

Given that I've called them out as thugs, criminals, domestic terrorists, violators of the civil rights of the counter protestoes and more, I fail to see how that equates to "making them look better." Pointing out there were alt-left violence seeking ANTIFA members who came looking for a fight and who ALSO beat innocent civilians in no way connects them to the peaceful protesters, in no way provides cover for the alt-right criminals and in no way justifies the crimes the alt-right committed.

I thought even you could understand the difference. I've repeatedly posted
I've posted that:
1. The counter protesters had every right to be there
2. There were a few troublemakers on the left (ANTIFA) who camped armed and looking to have conflict
3. The authorities were unprepared for the event in terms of both planning and execution
4. The local and VA State Police failed to protect the citizens from the violent alt right criminals
5. The alt right criminals are domestic terrorists who should be pursued with the full force of the federal government
6. The alt right criminals should be pursued with the full force of the federal government for federal civil rights violations
7. The people who were attacked by the alt right are certainly within their right to defend themselves and others as they try to withdraw from an out of control situation.
8. The alt right trespassers on the UVA green should have been removed by the police, arresting those who would not comply.

I don't care if we converse in detail. I was simply making the point that we had a multiple post exchange where you asked and I answered an question, you commented and replied, all without acrimony, insults, or name calling accusations like you just did, which is unsupported by what I've repeatedly posted here. Not trying to claim it was anything more than that. Just that it did happen.

Trump’s Tangle of Rhetorical Inadequacy
A gifted leader might make the case for building more statues rather than tearing down the ones we have.

A good opinion piece of what is clearly lacking from DJT right now when the nation needs it most.

Also a discussion about history, statues, and some points to consider in the discussion
