An Islamophobe, a racist, a sex offender, a white supremacist and a tax-evader walk into a bar.

The barman says, "What'll it be, Mr. Trump?"

Such a beautiful song. I'll be humming this all day:

So, blacks and Jews are the brown shirts now because they want to protect themselves from nazis?

No Moron. The folks here who have decided that they and others like them should be above the law, have the power to selectively deny constitutional rights to those they deem unworthy and who believe that they are entitled to decide who deserves to be subject to their Justice including any action up to "whatever level necessary" until they are all dead.

Sounded a lot like previous wearersof that particular attire, as well as other things they've posted.

I explicitly called out anarchist violence upthread as nutters who should go to prison.

However, why am I silent (even though I'm not) ?

Because the far left are fringe lunatics while the far right have the support of sympathetic minds in government, lending the violence of the state to their deranged plans?

Because the terror attack this week was carried out by a right-wing terrorist?

Because the far-right have organization, money and feverish hysteria on their side, while the far left couldn't organize their way out of a bakery?

Because I've spent time talking to people in both camps and have seen the marked differences?

I apologize for missing the bit about the anarchists, but not sure who you include in that. I was speaking NOT about the folks in Charlottesville but rather HERE where post after post folks are calling for unlawful violent actions, to whatever level they deem necessary until all of those people are all dead, ground into dust, or a few other catch phrases.

But from what you said above you appear selective in your condemnation of violence and it is a case of the organizational differences between the folks I've labeled domestic terrorists and civil rights violators and the "fringe lunatics" like ANTIFA.

How nice the SOME violence by THE RIGHT PEOPLE is fine by you.

Why this constant reference to a permit? I keep seeing that over and over again from the right. The counter protesters didn't need a permit to be there and the city of Charlottesville didn't demand it. It's a smokescreen argument and they're just looking for any reason to demonize the americans who stood up to the nazis.

Among everything that has been said about Charlottesville, only Trump, White House stooges, Klan members and White Supremacist Neo-Nazi's are trotting out the same line as Gaping Arsehole.

FTFU

Sorry asshole, but I haven't heard them calling the alt-right criminals from this past weekend domestic terrorists or civil rights violators, haven't heard them calling for the government to be better prepared to deal with what they already knew would be a likely major problem, including what has been done elsewhere by keeping separation between the two groups, haven't heard them calling out the local police any State Troopers for standing by and watching rather than protecting the civilians they watched getting attacked - though the governor praised them for the excellent job they did - haven't heard any of them talking about how folks can't take the law into their own hands, deny people their constitutional rights, and act as judge, jury and executioner. Haven't heard much if anything about the rights of the peaceful counter protestors or innocent bystanders.

So what "same lines" do you hear them trotting out that you think I have? Because from what I've posted, including the summary above, they and I seem pretty much worlds apart.

General Apathy, fast becoming a minority in the liberal hellhole that is America today. :(

Your posted links are not reflective of what I've posted. Reading the calls for illegal mob violence here, I am most certainly in the minority in opposing it here.

Altissimo,

I don't know what they are talking about. In the NPR article, it is clear they had permits
Charlottesville Violence Highlights Cities' Struggle To Balance Rights And Safety

So it seems that it's a case of not only folks trying to muddy the waters, but not having a clue about the facts. The alt-right leader actually was complaining that his permit was attempted to be taken away but not the ones for the opposition.

Having said that, there are circumstances where the law requires a permit to be obtained, as the alt-right had one and had to go to court to keep it, though I don't know if it is a function of the size of the group, where they intend to gather, or what.

On Friday night, hundreds of white supremacists and neo-fascists had a torchlight march across the University of Virginia’s campus, a place to which they had not been invited. They openly chanted fascist slogans like “blood and soil” and “Jews will not replace us”.

And the police should have cleared them and arrested those who did not comply. I'd argue that this may have been an intentional provocation to test the waters to see how the police would respond to try to gauge how far they could push the envelope on Saturday.
