That 'newspaper' is an utter fucking rag.
And your post won't shouldn't distract from JJ showing himself to be a massive alt-right-lovin' tool. But nice try Winsome.

The side under the banner 'Unite the Right' and calling themselves White Supremacists is fairly obviously the fascist side.
As for moral equivalence (I know everyone was very naughty and breaking some jaywalking law) that argument means these guys
were the same as these guys
Oh no! Wait! Those nice smart chaps were marching legally - protected by 6,000 police whereas that suspicious looking rabble at the top were breaking the law!
Now whose side do you support?
Think carefully.
I entirely support free speech and freedom of assembly.
I also support the right of people who don't want to be murdered because of their imagined ethnic differences to be jolly well ticked off and even get a tad feisty in their responses to invitations to gas chambers. Intemperate of me I know.

I'm absolutely fine with the government allowing free speech and lawful assembly no matter how vile the speech and these assholes were absolutely free to assemble and say whatever.
I am equally fine with their fellow citizens such as these folks employers learning what their employees do in their spare time and firing their racist ass.
I'm retired now but had I an employee that vile, I would have canned them at the first opportunity.

Only due to being at war with the aforementioned group...
Nothing to prevent the IRA and other extremists unofficially being funded in the past...
Mosques are being surveilled, but until individuals do something or are caught planning to, it's covered under free speech. You're idea of a society is rather Orwellian or on a less sophisticated level, like the one in Demolition Man.
Speaking of denying groups the right of assembly and speech, how about Nation of Islam rallies or Louis Farrakhan speaking speaking at Berkeley - anti-Asian, anti-homosexual and referring to Jews as the source of evil? How about a millennial black bitch who called me a Zionist and a kike at my then workplace? She mentioned being a recent convert and that ISIS doesn't exist. Lefties ignore this type of behaviour, claiming it's due to mental illness and trivialize it as simply an inconvenience.
