A more cynical assessment would be that, as we've just crossed the 400K mark for Covid deaths here, the day before he's finally gone, he wants to ramp up the numbers for Biden's first months, making his own "accomplishment" in that area not look so bad.

But nobody could be that callous toward human lives. Could they?

This guy told 20,000 people to march on the Capitol, in his name, and that he'd be right there with them. Then he went home, watched the show on his living room T.V., and subsequently complained that the rioters looked "low class".

Y'think Trump ever even took a good gander at the people at his rallies?

If there was ever anything consistent about Trump, it was his inconsistency. They were dumb enough to not realize that it’s all about Trump, and not them.
