Non Carborundum Illigitimum!

STFU...

Mac spends his time being a partisan pompous arse on the boards and he clearly can't handle some light ribbing...

How many times are we treated to his "sky is falling" and your countries are next posts?

Hey, I'll admit I'm a Cassandra. But your Prezzie just declared National Loyalty Day, publically stated that the Constitution is archaic, and is now kissing up to the Butcher of the Phillipines. Meanwhile, my president is setting the dogs on anyone who sticks their noses in the streets while he oversees the dismantling of our constitution. My salary is frozen for 20 years by constitutional ammendment and even supreme court justices are being assassinated.

So this isn't the "OMG, Obama is a seekrit Muzlim who's a'gonna take our gunz!" Style paranoia your buddies on the right love to engage in. It's a fairly well-informed look at the world.

When the Cheeto gets his Tonkin Gulf Resolution, I'll be sure to remind you about how I'm ridiculously paranoid, Condi.

How grimdark...

How are you incorporating a resurrected Guilliman into your fan fiction?

As for advice, you haven't given Any, but since you're casting yourself as the voice of reason and experience, Condi, maybe you'd like to tell me how I am to get an 80 year old retiree and an 18 year old niece out of the country and over to, say, Canada? Because neither Britain or the U.S. will allow it, thanks to folks like you.

Of course, I guess I coukd tell the people who depend on me to piss up a rope, in good, patriotic American style. I mean, shit, if the U.S. Army can flip the big bird to the translators who fight and die for it, why should I bive a fuck about the people I care for?

So, advice, Condi? Advice that is actually useful and practical? Or are you just farting out of your ignorant mouth again?

What else could one possibly add to those who've already offered such, even if not completely thought out? An erudite humble humanitarian like yourself must be accumulating enough karmic points to eventually cash in...

The shire does allow under 19-30 year old Brazilians to come for a year to studywork as we recently employed one (Proviso is they need to have 5-10 K in the bank to live on), though as Latin America is a booming Tourism market a lot of a travel companies are looking for SpanishPortuguese speaking staff. I have no clue on demand for Academics or whatnot

Problem is that its cold, boring and boring.

Australia might at least send you on a nice holiday to Nauru.

IIRC Hobbitland allows a wopping 300 Brazilians under the age of 30 in under the working holiday visa. Australia, which actually has a tertiary education system is a far more attractive option. Judging by attendance at our annual Festa Junina there must be triple that number in Melbourne alone and Melb is well down the preferred list of places for Brazilians wish to stay, most of them head for Sydney or the fucking Gold Coast, which makes sense cos if you want a decent facsimile of Barra di Tijuca then the wasteland that is the Gold Coast is unbeatable.

Here, the Libs are nuking 457 visas or a chunk of them to placate the Hansonites. Weird cos the biggest visa problem in Oz is the explotation of foreigners on student visas.

Hey, Hobbitland is working hard to catch up on exploiting any bloody foreigner on any sort of visa.
And we do have a sort of functional tertiary education system, it's just that it is quite busy trying to exploit foreign students...

We welcome any foreign currency to try and make it look like the cowrie has some value.

Bogan on Sea. Couldn't have put it better myself.

That's not to say it doesn't have its purpose(s).

It neatly absorbed the more gormless members of the Victorian population back in the '90s and continues to operate as a funeral home for other parts of the country.

It gave a geographical range to the white shoe brigade.

It seems to act as a reasonably efficient barrier or sink trap for the more adventurous banana-bender intent on heading south. Certainly more effective than the Tweed.

It gives people in Brisbane somewhere to look down on and let's face it, that's quite an acheivement.

I'd like to say that I've never seen a more culturally sterile, seaside shithole in my life but alas I've sojourned in Fortaleza and have friends in Recreio.

Bogan on sea is also the playground of the middle eastern wealthy. If you want to protest Saudi Arabia human rights pop down in June as most of the royal family is there each year.
