So Dave goes, the Tory party elect Boris and we get an unelected leader for the next 5 years.

Can people actually die of irony?

Shares and pound plunge on Leave vote

The sky is falling! Fucking hell, it'll pass. Some traders and bankers get twitchy and everyone panics? Give it a week and everyone will be talking sensibly about the next steps.
And as for another Scottish referendum, why? They had their chance and bottled it. They should wait at least 5 years before getting another shot.

Sondergaard wrote:Bloody hell will you lot get a grip? I'm as surprised as the next guy but we are where we are. Last I checked we'd managed quite well as an independent nation for about 1600 years (give or take the odd invasion) and I doubt we've lost the ability to govern ourselves in the last 40.
And I don't see this as a victory for 'little Englanders' though I have no doubt many will try and spin it that way. I see it as a dramatic failure of the Remain camp and the EU itself to offer anything other than threats. That pissed a lot of people off. Telling people they're effectively third rate and couldn't possibly stand on their own two feet (while simultaneously being in the G8 and vital to the EU's future) was a pretty fucking stupid route to go down.

I'm sure you are as right

I want to know where they are putting the cables so they can tow us into mid-atlantic.

Boris? We will be LUCKY if we get Boris :D :D

I expect UKIP to be approaching the Conservatives to discus union of the two parties now they have achieved the sole aim they were created for.

We had a PM called Nigel before?

EU wakes to biggest crisis in its history as Merkel ally warns: No special treatment.

No special Treatment? Just a shower then, like in that film? Phew.

Now we are out of Europe I am allowed to make jokes like that. Thanks Nige!

That kind of attitude isn't going to help anyone.
I'm trying to find something good about this result. If we all work together, and help each other pull wool over our eyes with a big shit-eating grin on our faces, then we may just find a way forward in all this.
Come on, fella, all's for the best in the best of all possible worlds...
