Just about midnight EST east coast US and with 51 reports left to come in, BBC shows a million vote lead to exit and is calling that the winning side.

I'll let the folks on that side of the pond discuss what it means, why it happened and why the projections were so off. News here is reporting that it happened but no one weighing in yet with analysis or opinions.

'Shame and eternal shame, nothing but shame.'

Oh well.
I can respect the result just so long as those who voted did so with consideration and not a knee-jerk 'fucking foreigners' attitude. I just remain unconvinced that was the case.
Ho-hum.
Better off looking forward than backward. Just a shame the path going forward is shit covered.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - the more I see of mainstream society the less involved I feel, and the less I want to be involved.

Oh, and Scotland - sorry we let you down. If it makes any difference then I feel shame for it. I wouldn't blame you for demanding another referendum. Sorry.

I suppose these things happen.

So, a bunch of old bloviators on a UK toy soldier site didn't have their finger on the pulse of their nation.

Who'd a thunk it?

Since the pound will be going down the toilet, would it be a good time to place orders with UK wargaming retailers?

Looking on the positive side of the result - it'll mean no more Eurovision Song Contest for us. Or football. And Cameron will almost certainly resign (though one shudders at what this surge of nationalist pride will usher in...).

No need to mention the negative side. I can think of plenty of those for myself.

Seeing as we're leaving, am I still allowed to savour a moment of schadenfreude?

By all means. Seems only fair.
Savour away!
Though, as I pointed out earlier, the referendum is not legally binding - it is only advisory. Dave et al are under no obligation to do as the nation (very narrowly) wishes. Though it is hard to imagine how, right here, right now, that it won't now happen. At some point.
