Anything to that or is he off his tits?

I think that pretty much nails it on the head.

One of the sad things is that many people seem to think local services being overwhelmed is the result of immigration, rather than political decisions by central government to slash council spending, despite being one of the wealthiest countries in the world.

No 'most people' think that what appears to be uncontrolled immigration, combined with cuts by central government, are negatively affecting social and health services in their area.

Neither do most people. They merely take their own fears and prejudices and apply them as consensus ;)

With the current refugee crisis in Europe blowing up in the EU's face, you really should be bailing out of the EU.

I am envious that you're even given the chance, not matter what the motivation is. Do use it.

In my country, the EU is eternal and may never be divorced (just like Third Reich). We'll sink with it.

Maybe a better lesson from the number of refugees heading to Europe would be to stop fucking about in geopolitical problems, the consequences of which we (and more particularly the US) have no idea about, until they slam us in the face.
Iraq
Afghanistan
Iraq
Backing loonies in the Arab countries
Then cheering the loonies who overthrow them.

Harsh decision to disband the EU because of monumental fuck ups by the oil companies and US/UK partners over the last century.

I think the EU should be disbanded because it's making decisions which are against the interests of individual European states, and is trying to enforce these decisions against their will. EU should be disbanded, because it's using the refugee problem for force more control to the EU, and to weaken individual member states. It should be disbanded, because it's making very stupid decisions and wastes absurd amounts of money (our money) for nothing. It should be disbanded because it's driving for a totalitarian Union which is very anti-democratic.

Or maybe that's ok for some countries, likewise with the Euro, but at the very least we should be allowed to decide whether we want to belong to this union, having seen where it is headed? Things have changed drastically from the 1990s.

My country has never been part of the the power block (US & and its allies, oil companies etc), but our membership in the EU is tarring us with the same brush. Likewise, with NATO & EU boikoting Russia, my country is dragged into a hybrid/cold war which has already started here.

Unfortunately there is a lot of truth in that.

I've always found it baffling that these people think that leaving the EU will solve their immigration worries. We all know that to a large degree "immigrant" means "brown person" in the minds of fuckwits, it might come as a surprise to them that most "brown people" don't emigrate from the EU, they come from the rest of the World, mainly The Commonwealth (that bit of old British Empire that they're supposed to look back fondly on...?!?) oh and the rest of the non white UK population that were born here are hardly going to pack up and go back to where their grandparents were born.
Now I know that leaving the EU would allow us to set our own immigration limits from the RoW but they're hardly going to fly Donald Trump here to build a wall across the mouth of the channel tunnel and demolish Heathrow.

I'm sure though that we'll stay in and "secretly" hate Polish people because there not a "race" so you can't be racist towards them. Oh and those Gypsies can go too and the Cornish.

And that funny looking guy down the road, I'm sure he's a druggy paedo.

Well, you've not signed the Shengen agreement, have you? It's clear to see that you folks in the UK have fairly limited knowledge of, or interest in, what's really going on in the EU? You have your own specific problems, systems and policies.

One wonders why you even bother being a part of it?
