So what do they think, that Trump will give them favourable trade terms because they're as big a mob of arseholes as he is and he likes the cut of their jib? The guy only likes one sided deals where the only winner is him!
Do they want to mimic his success? I'll be very surprised if he doesn't spend the rest of his life after he leaves office defending himself from attempts to have him criminally charged!

Or do they think he's an idiot who they can suck up to and manipulate to get a better deal?
If Brexit teaches anything it's that stupid people can be extremely pig headed.

Or is it two right wing ideologies with an unstable grasp on power desperately seeking to make an alliance so as to prop each other up?

I don't get it, has the entire western world just gotten bored of being reasonable and decided they'd give being irresponsible, irrational dickheads a try?

It's very simple, Farage, Rees-Mogg, Johnson etc are making millions while this is going on. The long-term outcome is relatively unimportant to them as they are made for life. It's the morons that vote for them that will suffer because they just go for the simplistic bollocks being told them no matter how untrue it proves to be.

Last sentence.
Crazy is the new cool.

Chris Patten (former Conservative Party Chair) was just on the radio saying how he doesn't recognise the Tory Party as it slides towards being a very nasty far right English Nationalist party.

Farage and co have plans to make big financial killings by letting US firms unfettered into the UK health 'market'. Not content with leeching on the NHS infrastructure Farage wants to destroy it and replace it with private health insurance.

Others will be looking to import goods without the safety and quality standards EU legislation imposes and consumer protection can be safely waved down the Swannee. Even if they weren't, US deals always impose their (lack of) standards in return for trade if they can get away with it - which is whjy the EU pisses Trump off.

Of course the Chinese will treat us fairly

Great to be back in control isn't it?

It's a complete and utter shambles. Woody Johnson seems to have let the cat out of the bag. (And what kind of a name is that for an ambassador anyway?)

What makes me laugh is (and I know I am crossing threads - sorry) is the apoplexy the TMP crowd get into if a Brit or a Norwegian makes a comment about US elections but its perfectly okay for the President to say who he wants as the next Prime Minister.

We should pull the plug on Trump's visit until he can keep his fucking nose out of other people's politics.

As for the NHS - what the fuck has it got to do with a trade deal whether we allow rapacious US insurance companies to bleed us dry?

And Corbyn's a Brexiteer? Fuck me whatever happened to Socialism? Obsessed with anti-Zionism and reliving the 70s.

We are fucking doomed.

Ah well, I can answer that. When the US negotiates a trade deal it likes to keep big pharma onside. Fair enough, it's a big money spinner for the US. What they want is to undermine, erode or ideally vanish any subsidised medicines and to extend or even remove the sunset restrictions that allow for generic versions of drugs to be sold after a relatively short space of time. The NHS provides a range of subsidised medicines, arguably less than Australia's PBS but significant.

Beyond that both Ideologically and financially there would be the bigger goal of winding back or killing off the NHS itself. No nasty socialist medicine to have held up to you each time you claim it's a commie conspiracy to rob you of your god given choice to be impoverished by ill-health. How realistic that one is would be up to the punters in the UK but you can't fault the Yanks for trying. Boris and friends will probably be so desperate for anything after a no-deal Brexit, that the shit sandwich you get served might seem palatable. Remember this is the administration who pulled out of the TPP cos it wasn't favourable enough to the US.

That's what I get for asking rhetorical questions! :D
But, yes - all of the above and more.
What makes it all a tad more puzzling here in Wales is that we have free prescriptions for all meds currently.
And we still vote for Farage's 'Let's revamp the NHS by murdering it' Party. I mean FFS it was based on things like the Tredegar Workmen's Medical Aid and Sick Relief Fund.
I presume we like the idea of £350 million a week paid into American insurance companies' pockets. (Shame it doesn't exist).

Sneer all you like but I’ll wager you this. In five years time the Irish will not be complaining about Guatemalan illegals flooding over their southern border!

True, but if they're not careful they'll be swamped with Plastic Pads waving their new passports as they escape the doomed, chlorinated, United Health Care world of Fuhrer Farage's GB.
