In - On the cunts basis. I heard one on the radio saying that if we went out we could take Britain back to the 50's. They seemed to have the idea that we could carry on trading with the Commonwealth but without all that bad immigration.

In - on the informed basis. I've had a little direct experience of admin in the EU and it wasn't either easy or happy, but it was the better way to go. There's a lot wrong with the current direction of the EU, especially TTIP, but if anyone thinks an outed and probably reduced UK won't sign up to that they're living in cloud cuckoo land.

I suspect the vote will be quite close this time due to a peculiar mix of apathy and rage. But there is always the possibility that this is a purely Conservative internal pissing contest and the larger majority don't care enough to change the status quo. There is the exciting possibility of a large 'stay' vote wrecking the political careers of Boris Johnson, John Redwood, Ian Duncan Cunt, Nigel Farrage et al and giving Bill Cash a heart attack.

Speaking for England, on that last basis alone it is the duty of every patriotic Englishman to vote 'In'.

As a romantic, I say fuck 'em.

Yes, that's pretty much exactly how I feel. And how I'd have felt if voting in the Scottish referendum.

I'm going to walk into the booth and vote 'stay', but in my head I won't be voting for Cameron's 'renegotiated' sop to the little Englander xenophobe engineered rumpus.
I'll be voting for a chance to stay close to the centre of European power and eventually rejoin ever closer political union and a shared vision of cultural and social integration.

And, yes - that'll be exactly my motivation when voting 'stay'.

Poor England. Simultaneously a client state of the US and beholden to an increasingly alien EU. Secession? A quiet and dignified subaqueation into the motherly North Sea is your best bet.

He's a Yank, they don't let them into hospital just because they are on the monthly down-swing. He will have been crouched in his loft whimpering various obscure synonyms for 'Black! Blaaaaack!'

welcome back Mike!

Hmm...I quite like the idea of that.
We can slip beneath the waves and become a New Atlantis. The British Isles could unite with the sunken Doggerland and form a coalition, calling our new sub-aqueous empire The Isle of Dogs.
Although we'd have to make sure we didn't attract too many jellied eel-eating, Royal family-loving, cockney wankers to our new nation.
Maybe a re-brand might be in order
Still, a good idea!
