Last I knew he was back in the UK at the embassy trying to get residency in the US, something like that.

emigrated to 'Merica, married (happily I presume, and sincerely hope), and pissed with some folk after an incident I wasn't in attendance at (and therefore can't comment on) last year.

Yup. I don't think he has posted on here since last April. Basically due to the 'incident' following Salute. I think disagreement would be the most diplomatic term.

From all accounts he is in the process of emigrating to the US of A, otherwise known as 'land of the bears'.
