Kate Bush to "tour" again

Postby Hermit » Sat Mar 22, 2014 12:06 am

Not exactly a tour as all the performances will be in London:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/musi ... years.html

20 years ago I would've jumped at the chance to see her live, but she might be a bit too old now. The tickets will sell-out. There's no worries there, but I can't help think it'll be due to a "Vegas Elvis" situation. In other words, many will still want to see her live just to say that they've done so, even though she's not what she once was.

I don't think she's produced a decent album since The Sensual World, and pretty much hit the millenium a bit too hard, music wise. Some comebacks just shouldn't happen :(

I'd quite like to see her anyway, but I expect the tickets will sell out within seconds and then pop up on scalping sites at 10 times face value.

Ths made me laugh though:

Never really 'got' Kate Bush, artistically. Too much hippy bollocks interpretive dance and ethereal wailing vocals for my liking.

Visually, though, the 12 year old me completely disagreed with the above statement.

Back in the 80's when I was a little kid there was definitely something about Kate Bush's appearance and vocals that tingled my balls and tented my PJs. Not so sure a busted sofa on stage is going to achieve that these days.

I was at college with Kate Bush's niece. She got me loads of signed photos, which I must still have around somewhere. If anyone wants to borrow them (they're of her in the 80's) for a nostalgic wank them I'm open to offers.
