I'm in the 'all religions are complete and utter bollocks' camp.

What does that make me (apart from a cunt of course, that goes without saying)?

What is the "extra" God you think Catholics believe in?

Mother Mary presumably, along with Father, Son & Holy Ghost.

I guess so, because that seems to be the typical misconception about catholics by non-catholics; but I'm fairly certain that I have already explained this before (don't you listen to me, Duff  ?).

Mary may be revered, but not worshiped. She is, definitely, not divine. In fact, it is because she's (or was) human that she's prayed to, to intercede for us because God may not truly understand how weak and petty we are.

But as you can see, you can be raised in a catholics country and still be an atheist.

on a tangential note I once spoke to an old guy of pakistani descent who talked to me about jinn, which confused me at the time (14th century belief meet 20th century belief), but lead me to look into what he was saying, and as far as I could get to he beleived (sincerely) that the jinn, humans and angels make up the three sapient creations of God...

was a bit fucking mind blowing for me...

The Trinity is quite a common theory in religions, a triangle is one of the most stable designs, the Egyptians used Pyramids which have three sides and there's one on the US dollar bill.

Makes you think eh?

And stop chucking those bloody rocks at me!

Makes me think you are getting dangerously close to needing your mum to knit you a new tinfoil hat. A three-Legged stool is about as stable as a Unicycle. Egyptian Pyramids have four sides, not three, and the Pyramid on the Dollar Bill is a conspiracy theorit's dream. Paul Atreides himself could tell you a Triangle is the least stable form in Politics, and I think Pompeius, Crassus, Caesar, Octavian, Lepidus and Marcus Antonius mught agree with him

I think we live in a universe governed by rational, knowable principles (sometimes called natural laws), and that beings that exist outside the restraint of such laws (gods) are therefore impossible. Thus, I believe there is no god. So am I an atheist or not?

I'm glad to hear the irony bypass was a success and that you're sitting up in bed fondling a grape. Will they let you out for the weekend?
