Windy, isn't it?

Postby Levied Troop » Wed Feb 12, 2014 8:14 pm

Being English, most of my best chat up lines start with the weather.

But today has been quite remarkably breezy. Fence panels down, the garden filled with other people's rubbish, a howling in the chimmneys and the lights are flickering every 5 minutes. I've had to check my tinned supplies.

Hope everyone else has their head above water.

Sadly, LT, the back-up from the Thames is now lapping at the end of the driveway.

Bugger of a job finding sandbags these days.

Yup very windy, but no chance of flooding, I live on a hill, in the North.

If only Redzed was here, I'd lord it over him...

Windy, wet, and cold by us. And there's a sinkhole blocking my route home which means I'm still in the workshop hoping to avoid the 2 hour drive home of last night once the traffic's fucked off....
...I've heard things about people from other people about certain people to back that up (c) Andrew May

Just think of the opportunities for naval wargaming Bryce :D And WW1 trench re-enactment when you manage to find the sandbags.

When did sink holes become a feature of UK geography? I can't recall any before, now there's been two in as many months. I blame gay marriage.

If gays were responsible for the weather wouldn't it always be fabulous? Shirley?

No-one really knows for sure. It might also be because of the fashion for concreting and paving over everything, including gardens. The rain that soaks into the ground at the edge of these areas may be shifting the dried ground underneath the concreted parts and creating these sink holes.

Just my theory.
