Dear Applicant,

Unless expressly authorised by us, any further dissemination or distribution of this email or its attachments is prohibited.

I am sending this email to announce: After the last annual calculation of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of 318.23 GBP

See there is the clue I look for, it is sometimes hard to see unless you know what you are looking for. Like my fucking name since you claim to have contacted me specifically.

Sorry Scott carry on there are still moron's in the world falling for this shit.

yup, thing is mate, there are people who will fall for this, especially when times are tough and they think it's a little bit of luck going there way from the taxman. I mean, people watch soap operas, reality tv shows, 'talent' shows - that's a pretty big fucking audience right there of people who don't think, perfect targets

I know what you are saying but I just don't understand people. When my parents/wife/family etc. send me emails asking if something is genuine
they get a eureka moment when I say "so your bank has written to you about your account and addressed it Dear Customer"

But clearly lots of people fall for it, I'm sure I heard money gained through these scams was the fastest growing industry in places like Nigeria
and was actually feeding into the countries GDP. :loopy:

Interesting article here Nigerian Scam Emails
Essentially saying they are dumb emails for a reason. That being if you fall for them you are more likely to be stupid enough to hand over money
once they have you hooked. Never thought of it that way.

I think Vice did a piece about internet scams based in Nigeria. Even local 'witch doctors' are getting in on it and offer blessings and charms to give the scammers good internet foo.
