MMA any of lot have an interest in? Or any martial arts/?

Postby Carlos13th » Sat Feb 08, 2014 10:54 pm

Any of you have any interest in the noble art of kicking fuck into one another that dates back to to Pankration in ancient Greece?

Don't really mind if its watching it, training it or you hate it for some reason just wondered if frothers have any thoughts or interest in the subject.

Even if you train a single martial art such as Boxing or Judo it would be intresting to hear.

Just a fan of martial arts and I was wondering if anyone else was. Cant train it atm due to a head injury.

I have done Krav Maga, Kickboxing, Muay Thai and BJJ. A few lessons here and there in other arts but not enough to say I have trained in them.

Assuming Kendo was quite hard on the knees then?

I imagine Iaido was too considering they seem to do a lot of things from a kneeling start.

Done a fair bit of Karate, mainly Wado Ryu and Shotokan, have taught Wado in the past. I have also done a bit of Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido but never managed to get to a Dan grading as they are all held the other end of the country and I am pretty much permanently skint. Hoping to have a go at Taekwondo in a few weeks (TAGB) as there is a good club nearby, hopefully sharpen my kicks up a little. I have also dabbled in Koryu Kobudo, Wing Chun, Lau Gar and Ki Aikido. I love playing with shiny weaponry like sai and kama but I only know a couple of Kobudo kata. I blame the ninja turtles for all this...

Not really a martial artist but I did used to design martial arts magazines when I was a graphic designer.i worked on mags called Traditional Karate, TKD-KMA (Tae Kwon Do and Korean Martial Arts) and Combat Magazine. All published by a small company in Birmingham. I've always been interested in a martial art called Choi Kwang Do though...

Done a fair bit of Muay Thai over the years and a bit of Ju Jitsu back in the 1990s. Received a hamstring pull playing football last year so slowed down for a while. Seems better at the moment so working on upper body strength and cardio.
