When he won the presidency he could have taken different routes. Oppress the white minority and effectively make himself a Mugabe like dictator? No, he chose unification, reconciliation, and stepped down after one term. He was a great man and the world is poorer without him.

I am always of split mind on this - but I am generally of the opinion we can never move forward in anything unles we learn to forget the past - where Ireland is still going wrong.
