This is all a bit Judge Minty cross Game of Thrones isn't it?

Humphrey the chastised, sent from the realms of civilisation to the Northern and Cold wastes to join the brethren of the watch to look out over the ice. He is allowed to go with his honour and with his shame unmentioned, to fend for himself against the mutants, beasts and bad men that dwell there with nothing but an ice pick.

Still, I guess it could be worse. They could be sending him to somewhere really horrible . . . .

My dad used to work on the rigs around the NWP when I was a kid; he said the bears would regularly swim out to the feet of the patforms, kinda trying to work out if they could get up there. I think the last thing you want to see is a polar bear. Those things are fucking psychos.

Not done the arctic but I did get up to the tundra. Unlikely to see much wildlife out there I fear, but the sheer alien emptiness and endlessness and whiteness of the landscape is pretty incredible in its own right.

I wonder if by 'wildlife' humph is once again speaking of the female variety?

Didn't he go off to Africa to build a school or something with young female volunteers/aid workers or something? This time its probably young female science researchers/conservationists or something?
