Probably wouldn't have gone the same way in the US...

One hit the chest, one hit the leg.

Presumably that second shot wasn't aimed at the leg, and it's lucky it did hit part of him rather than go off somewhere and hit someone innocent.
Just shows that even someone who is well trained, at just a few feet range, doesn't always make such a crack shot.
It paid off this time. It could very easily not have.

Article says the man was hit in the chest and leg. Doesn't say if a shot missed, so presumably he was hit twice in one of those locations.
Again, presumably all those shots were aimed at the chest and, at barely a few feet away, at least one of those missed the chest though fortunately still hit the attacker. Could so easily have missed altogether though. And this is a trained, military, shooter from just 5 feet away.

He got off one shot - ricochets off the road - second round jams (not sure how it jammed in .38 revolver? Maybe the cylinder caught on something as he went down?)

So, bloody lucky as it turned out (not for #13 obviously - that'll teach him not to be superstitious) - the rounds could have gone anywhere. When she took the first shot there was a woman and child behind the robber. Lucky it didn't go through him and hit one of them.

Edit - I see you saw the three shot bit If you look she's not carefully aiming the last shot, she's moving into cover behind the car.

Same-o, same-o here, Bill. Military Police are our cops. Not our only cops, but they ain’t exactly what Americans and Brits think of when they think “MP”.

As for her being lucky, think about it. Really, seriously. One richochet would have been all it took. If it had been your kids standing there, would you be so complacent? I wouldn’t. Remember: what was at stake here was the kids’ lunch money and the moms’ cell phones, not their lives.

This sort of thing happens every day in Brazil. And, more often than not, it ends up with dead bystanders.

Just a few weeks ago, some MPs came up our road in hot pursuit of two boys on a motorcycle who were purse snatchers. They were going 50 KPH when they passed our house, up a steep cobblestoned street lined with apartment buildings. Right in front of our place, the cops decided it would be a cracking idea to let loose with five shots from their service revolvers.

They certainly didn’t hit the kids and are very lucky they didn’t hit anyone else, because every one of those bullets went somewhere. Probably into building walls.

Now, these kids, I stress again, were PURSE SNATCHERS. As far as I know, that is not a capital offence. And in their zeal to “protect us”, the cops put the whole neighborhood at risk. Over two teenage purse snatchers.

I really wish that the “an armed society is a polite society” Yanks could’ve been down there at street level that day.

I don’t know who scares me more here, the criminals or the cops. One thing I know for sure, however: if we ever let Joe Blow pack heat like they do in the States, our already sky high murder rate will double almost overnight.

Brazil is responsible for 25% of the murders on the planet. Mull that one over, “guns make people safer” folks. Of course, it is also a textbook example of how gun control laws, on their own, do exactly nothing to reduce violence.

The Chief Constable of South Wales Police has decided he wants to arm all his constables with Tasers - I know it's not as sexy as a Glock 17 but hey! It's a start!

This because of 'knife crime' apparently.
Wales had the lowest incidence of knife crime (along with the South West of England) in 2015, and in 2016 the Deputy Chief Constable said 'there is not a culture of knife crime in South Wales'.
This week the Chief Constable said stabbings were rare.
This is the same guy who wants to arm all his officers because of 'knife crime' to make people think twice before attacking his officers. He's a complicated chap.
