Mac is right. She should have waited for the on duty civil police and not interfered. That's why you have police. To not be able to be everywhere at once and be able to protect people like these would have been victims.

Was there a chance the alleged criminal might have robbed the people and shot them as well? Doesn't matter. Can't have trained armed individuals stepping in when needed just because they were (a) armed (b) trained and (c) needed, now can we?

Was the gun the criminal had legally owned? I'm guessing he didn't pass a background check and propably didn't follow the law about his gun either.

Many times when off duty cops try that shit here in Brazil, itends with dead bystanders,which in this case would have probably have been kids. I live in fear of some cop pulling something like that. They can have my wallet: I don’t want poorly aimed bullets whizzing by my head.

Katinha’s either a cop who has had way more than the usual training or very lucky. I suspect the latter.

To (bend over backwards to) be fair, Dan's made some useful posts on actual gaming, especially in the area of SF/fantasy/pulp.

I do wish he could manage to keep his political rants off TMP, but that seems to be part of his "set".
