Tim, just because I don't like playing SS doesn't mean I think everyone who has an SS unit/kamfgruppe is a raging Nazi sympathiser. I don't think the OP on TWW meant to claim that moral superiority either. I feel odd about it because I have some personal emotional resonance from my family's losses. I can understand someone who doesn't have that angle just wanting to use troops that get multiple bonuses in many WWII rule sets.

I got the feeling that the OP had been enjoying projecting themselves into the campaign game until they suddenly actually read about the Japanese troops did in Machuria. Cut them a bit of slack. They probably felt pretty weird about it and wantd to vent/share/get reassurance.

What happens when no one at the table wants to play the Germans?

He was "played" BTW, by Conrad Veidt, who fled Germany with his Jewish wife when the Nazis came to power.

Maybe the best solution would be to adopt something like the clause he had written into his contracts: any Nazi character he played had to be a villain.

I'll have you know I've been supergluing my fingers together attempting to assemble some Donnington carts (nice carts but a feckin pain to assemble) for my ECW baggage trains. Based up some ECW light limbers too. Thought about assembling some minions and prep their crews, but decided to clean the bathroom instead.

My dear chap, the last bit was not aimed at you in particular but rather at what Frothers has become.

I have been prising 30 Years War figures off bases and rebasing them as ECW (no I don't rebase just because they are moving across the North Sea! - I am trying a different set of rules. Besides the way I had them based meant I needed more space than I currently have easily available.) Don't fret by the way, they are 10mm so no-one will spot the difference (I suspect half of them are ECW figures in the first place).
