That's incredibly embarrassing. Going to a random tourism website for information on military history? And he runs a website for wargaming, a hobby that focuses on military history? One of many incidents that causes people to doubt he has ever played wargames.

Bill was with Steve Jackson Gsmes, so he is familiar with the concept of wargaming. But he knows shit about historical gaming. That could explain why he coddles Kiley. He has an “air of authority” about him.
But relying on tourism agencies for history is like getting your science from popular news websites.

In other news, Walt has appeared at TWW on a thread that is just so brilliantly titled for his debut. Well, I hope its his debut as its just too good: not only does the title sum up what I thought when I realised it was him posting but it is spelt wrong which must make the illiterate buffoon feel right at home (well it would if he noticed).

My guess is Ralph doesn't really have opinions of his own, he just imitates what people do around him.
