Alas the most common feedback I get from individuals about TWW is that it is too quiet.
These comments mostly come from people who don't post on TWW.
I try to gently suggest that if everyone who said it was too quiet joined in and created some discussion then it would be mega busy, but mostly it seems to fall on deaf ears.
It is a bit of a catch 22 (nope never read it) that I alone can not break, it requires the will of those that see it is an issue to fix it.
I certainly can't/won't create a load of topics just to busy it up, imagine a forum where most of the posts were just trolly chat for the sake of it...

There is a danger that if everyone tried to post something to keep the place busy you'd end up with the Bill style "Which hand do you roll your dice with?" filler posts.
Better fewer but wargaming pertinent posts, than all the mind guano that makes up the bulk of TNP.

If you strip out the multiple 'bug' posts, bollocks about internal USA social problems, the pointing at 'overseas brown people and how to nuke them', smug self opinionated wank fests between Kiley and Gazzola and general illiterate idiocy, there is probably almost parity between TWW and TNP in actual wargames content. And the air is cleaner and far more fragrant on TWW.

There is absolutely no comparison between Frothers and Random Platypus wargames content (almost zero) and TWW.

So why do people say TWW is quiet? Perhaps because people have moved to splendid isolation on blogs and/or have an unnatural desire to let global psychopaths have their personal data (me! me! me! me! me! me! me! Please abuse me! I can influence world affairs if you just spam me with 'the Wit and Wisdom of Nigel Farrage and Aaron Banks).

Or perhaps there is just a natural limit to what one can write about wargames without wandering off into fond memories of Hugo Boss outfits and how many babies you can fit on the end of an M1898 Seitengewehr (sawback or straight?)? TNP definitely caters for those interests. I'm pleased to report TWW doesn't.

In fairness to Random Platypus I think it is more of a miniatures forum than a gaming forum.
A slight but important distinction.
That said, it is still a bit of a graveyard.

Sorry - just in case anyone thinks I was slagging off RP - I quite like it - it's a bit like finding one of those quiet disused classrooms at a decent school, where the staff have forgotten that Mr Clarke retired three years ago and it is still listed as occupied, so no one timetables it for anything. A cosy place to rest from the troubles of Horace and Virgil without having to put up with the oiks smoking behind the cricket pavillion in the rain.

I like RP, but it does have a bit of a “look at this new mini, isn’t it shit?” Going on :)

This is the 1983 Melbourne 'dust storm'. I remember it vividly. There was a solid wall of shite that crossed St Kilda Road and the world went dark. These things can happen anywhere with the right conditions and we had them, big drought and big bush fires that year. We lost our school camp in the fires and the silly fuckers ran a barbeque as a fundraiser.

Ooh, I remember that dust storm! Saw it coming and raced around the house shutting all the doors and windows. Lots of crap from the Mallee and Wimmera dropped on us.
I Froth because I care about miniatures.

TWW could do without cunts like 'Paskal' too.

One Tango is more than enough.

I think we did this a couple of months back, but I'm prepared to put a fiver on 'Paskal' BEING 'Tango'.
MO is the same, pathetic 'pidgin' English is the same, until he forgets - the only thing missing is he isn't very 'amicalement'.

Paskal lacks Tango's scattergun approach, He's almost the reverse, obsessively focused a subject. The drawback being that the subjects change weekly, and vary widely, which smells of troll.
