Now they’re noticing that the trains aren’t running time, and they can’t search for muffler information.

Even back when I was there, I'd say the majority were either not following the boards/threads where such things as personal problems (Morman extremeism, Paedo Doug, his various trans efforts and aliases) or site problems (bugs, lies, promises about 'the next build', ban hammer, equal justice for all, sacred cows, ignoring paid advertiser due dates, insulting advertisers, and the list seems endless) and happy as the thread they were interested in like "were the port running lights on a Desoto class nuclear baby carriages white bulbs behind green glass or actually green bulbs?*" was up and running and the impact of the answer on Napoleonic line vs. column and whether Nappy was sick at Waterloo or was sick because of Waterloo and whether it was a mortal or venial sin to call Nappy, well, Nappy could be visited and commented upon.

Apart from a small group of hard core racists, I don't think Billy-Bug has much respect from the rank and file at TMP.
And even characters like the odious Stone Mountain or the brain dead Caique Caribe would tend to despise him for perceived weakness.

The dwindling membership stay because of habit, they have internet-acquaintances there and you can chat about inconsequential stuff which is a practice frowned on other hobby forums. The periodic train-wrecks also keep the interest of some.

I think quite a number also have memberships in real wargaming forums such as LAF & TWW where they discuss gaming. TMP is the miniature wargaming equivalent of Dr Phil.

Yeah. Not so much. If he was in any way smart, he would re-consent with explicit permissions. There is an explicit right to expect that once there is no longer any basis for legal processing, such as telling Bill to Fuck Off, then he is required to delete any personal information, or if he can argue using it en masse for trend analysis or similar, then to de-identify to remove PII.. Yep, for my sins I am currently writing a DPIA, and get to spend 2 hours with the lawyers tomorrow to make sure we are squeaky clean.

This is the 1983 Melbourne 'dust storm'. I remember it vividly. There was a solid wall of shite that crossed St Kilda Road and the world went dark. These things can happen anywhere with the right conditions and we had them, big drought and big bush fires that year. We lost our school camp in the fires and the silly fuckers ran a barbeque as a fundraiser.
