And you think something like TMP is in the same league as those?
I don't doubt that EU authorities would love to take some of those large multi-nationals down a peg or two. It would do wonders for their credibility.
But farting around with something as petty and trivial as a wargames forum, because someone wants their posting about tank formations of East Germany during the cold war removed in a moment of petulant hissy fit, is not going to get their attention.
I'm sure the silly twat complaining about their privacy and wanting their post to be deleted will have every right to have that done, but I am not convinced that anyone is going to put much effort into it when there are much bigger fish to fry and much more publicity to be gained with companies such as Facebook et al.
That's who they are itching to get their hands on, not fucking TMP, TWW, LAF, Frothers, etc. You cock.

Oh and fuck you too very much. You're half right, unlike your contention that it's up to the individual to raise legal proceedings. The EU would love to rape Zuckerberg and the rest of the arrogant little shits who have created a Brave New World of ethical vacuum. They wouldn't give a shit about chicken licking Bill, but it's not about users' posts. It's whether Bill is appropriately using, securing and handling personal data. If I was him, I would be booting EU citizens, or doing a re-consent for the uses for their data. I will bet you anything you like, that come 25 May, Bill will be in breach of the GDPR.

As I understand it, (and I do this shit for a living, among other things), the ICO is legally obliged to investigate a complaint. I wouldn't imagine a cease and desist letter costs them much, 'fill in the blanks'. It's going to get really fucking messy.

If you're a member of other wargames lists, then there's every likelihood you will already have seen re-consent requests and so on. This shit is real.

Yep, as usual Bill the Insane Twat is telling a pack lies.
No fecking way TMP is remotely compliant, the lying sack of shit.

After 25th May I will enquire if he is GDPR compliant and request all my details are removed from his database (its a locked account ofc)
Then when he lies about doing so I am submitting a formal complaint to the UKs ICO.
It will probably take them a while to get around to him but we all know Bill panics when he is confronted by real legal authority.

Payback time you fucking tosser.

Maybe all of the lost souls who walked away, ran away, drifted away, or were locked out or banned should do the same thing. I can see the authorities scratching their heads (at first) about the hornet's nest that someone kicked, which might lead them out of curiosity to actually look at the site. When you send in your complaint, you might want to suggest that they first apply for membership so they can see the stuff beyond the front page.

Who knows what might come of that?

The ban on politics only applies to American politics.

Tired of defending Jar Jar Binks and suffering a remorseless hail of slngs and arrows, Capt Gideon has decided to join the mainstream of TNP. He’s looking for a Hitler figure.

Illuminating thread, looks like Wargames Illustrated has stolen Treadaway’s thunder by having their own Nazi theme for Salute.

Well at least you don’t have to wonder at what the market for a vignette of Hitler and the Nazi leadership at Nuremberg would be.

And Wargames Illustrated is now presented as a full member of "The Battlefront group of companies".

Was there not some talk about how was at least going to try to be independent?

The issue shown is from 2011, when WI was part of BF. IIRC "Freedom" came later.
