I'd settle for someone that can write English.

The question isn't why it went down (shit happens etc.) but why it took 4-6hrs for him to try and do anything about it after he was aware.

I really do hope Bill gets out of the funk he's stuck in lately with all the car, personal, technical and life in general problems he said he's dealing with right now. As much as I love to laugh at how hilariously obtuse he can be, I don't wish any actual ill on the guy. I don't think any of us really do.

It'd be great--for him more than for anyone else--to wake up one day and be like "yeah, I'm a pretty sleazy dictator of a small pond full of old fish" and just recognize and admit and atone for all the lies and shittiness. But that's never gonna happen, so watching the shit carnival go to the laugh factory is a decent runner-up.

Drove past a local high school the other day, and some young girl was wearing yoga pants so tight one could count the muscles in her derriere!

She wasn't sloppy, though…

I would love it if they could do membership renewals, but that would require some serious programming on my part…

Which translates as "The 'Editors' don't actually do anything at all related to TMP. So here's a BS excuse for those wondering why I'm snowed under."

They do lots for people with no interest in wargames, loose grasp of english, and minimal web based knowledge. Think about it, creaky old 1993 programming era Arminfruit is teaching them how to do things on the web. They are seriously screwed. Alright, now we're going to get into FORTRAN and then later the finer points of COBOL. When we get advanced I'll help you grasp PASCAL so you can find a good job in America.

There's some really good jobs to be had for people with knowledge of old programming languages. Financial institutions have lots of legacy software that needs looked after and they'll pay good money to people who can look after it.

I've made lots and lots of money doing AS/400 programming for financial institutes, including COBOL. It pays a much higher hourly rate than more modern languages because it's so hard to find anyone that knows it. I'm doing something else at the moment, but I still get daily phone calls and emails asking me to do that. Sometimes I wish there were two of me, but I wouldn't want to inflict that on an unsuspecting public.
