I'm amazed that he can manage to type at all with his free hand buried up to the wrist in his rectum. Only two possibilities occur. Firstly that he's had a small keyboard grafted to his small bowel or alternatively he controls the site by manipulating some form of joy stick by wiggling his arse.

Just letting you know that due to technical problems, personal problems, car problems, the weather, and life in general, I am terribly behind on processing new memberships and reading my email and PMs.

Something went wrong during the nightly maintenance phase, causing the main forum database's index to fail. I have no idea why. I believe we had a similar problem about five years ago, involving another database. The problem was fixed by reindexing the database.

Now we shall see if this is just a random glitch (I hope) or if it will recur.

This has nothing to do with the database work which Editor Julia has been doing.

It all seems rather vague, let's hope that the system can hold up for another 10 years until TMP 4.0 is ready. I assume he's working towards a state of nirvana where reindexing takes 24 hours leaving people no time to post on the site and increase the size of the database.
