I don't understand. He's actually open to the option of _not_ fixing it? Of course take the fucking site down for a couple of hours to bring back, you know, the majority of the fucking content you just wiped out.

I think it's a test to see how pissed off people will be when he finally announces that he can't migrate all the old threads to the new system.

Drove past a local high school the other day, and some young girl was wearing yoga pants so tight one could count the muscles in her derriere!

She wasn't sloppy, though…

That seems very much his style.

Seems silly though, when he probably already knows that both his members will be very ticked off indeed.

The content hasn't been wiped out. The data is still there, and you can see it. He's just not pointing to it.

But many of the gibbons can't work out how to find any of it, so it's the same thing really.

And let's be clear. If he goes with a turn-key solution for TMP "4.0" (what the hell were 1, 2, and 3.0?), the likelihood that he can import TMP's vast history of threads is damn low.

In some BB packages maybe the database structure is flat enough that he could do it with a lot of careful iterations of targeted transformations of the existing TMP data, but I can't see how it's gonna take less than ungodly fuckloads of trout-hours.

And that assumes he's got at least an amateur programmer's mindset, which is a bit much if you look at say, how he's "designed" an advertiser login system where there's a password in the querystring of the url, which turns out to, by his own admission, be a completely pointless password that doesn't really protect anything in the first place.

But he has a rapid response team of highly qualified international Editorixes, so it can't possibly be a problem! :D

Let's hope he runs a poll

Most of it is rather old though and the amount of "zzz"s present on the useful and informative threads are rather telling.

I should probably cache all the ones I can see myself coming back to so when TMP crumbles into the swamp I still have some good bits left.

TMP would be a perfectly good site if just one recidivist offensive member were to be banned and never return.

Then the Trans girls could run the site themselves.

I wonder if he can't fix it, and asking "the masses" allows him to use his socks to say "no Bill, we're fine without it, really we are!"

If he can't transfer any of the posts to TMP4, it's going to be dead in the water - the only useful thing on TMP are the archive of threads from 5-10 years ago before everyone started to leave.

It's now over two hours since this…

I can put the site back into maintenance to fix the problem, but we'll be down for two hours or so. What do you think?

What is he doing?
