Looks like Chumpy isn't allowed out to play until Bill has dealt with all the change password requests and PMs from worried advertisers... so something good came out of this

Maybe if any further security issues arise a different disclosure method may be advised?

Shh! Bill hasn't finished covering it up... the bodies on the advertisers board are six deep already!

Oh and Bill, you asked me to tell the truth that hurt so much?

The fact I am connected to your shitty sleazy website forever regardless of whether I like it or not.

That hurts.

It hurts so much I've turned from a disinterested ex-member who couldn't give a shit into an angry anti-TMP activist.

But hey, you carry on squire, you're doing just fine.

Advertisers ought to know that his site is putting their data at risk, the only way to do that is publicly on another forum, as to discuss it on TMP would lead to banning and coverups. At least a few advertisers are now aware of the matter and taking action. Bill should never have let this happen in the first place and to code his site in such away as to make the passwords so publicly visible without any form of encryption is unpardonable!

I agree. But I'm guessing that not many will see it here. Would it be appropriate to post it on LAF or some other "neutral" site?

On a normal forum, it could be discussed on the advertisers board...

Obtusetrout's amazing lack of data security ought to be posted all over the fucking interwebs.

It probably breaches a few state and federal laws, but we can wait on Katie to answer that one.

She's probably unable to post after splitting her sides when reading about it!
I'm guessing this case will end up being used as a textbook example as "what not to do when setting up a secure site" in various training courses 0;)
