If you can paint, he wants nothing to do with you.
That’s fairly clear. It means you are focusing on the wrong thing.
Hell, in my Flames of War games (Hi Derek!) I’ve noticed that if you ain’t the Hun, just about everyone wears some shade of khaki and some shade of green helmet.
That means that I can proxy just about anyone to be just about anyone.
It also means I had better sort stands back into the right drawer immediately after the game, or I’m screwed.

Tango doesn't understand? That would imply he reads anything that he cuts and pastes. I'm sure he has some military/conflicts keyword feeds and anything that comes up gets cut and pasted without any human filtering involved whatsoever. Somebody, on here, wondered if Tango's posting was a bot. Quite likely. All 'Tango' has to do is follow up with 'glup', 'glad you like it my friend' etc

Yes, he doesn’t think painting is necessary. He doesn’t think realistic terrain layouts are necessary, either. His simulations don’t account for ground scale, accurate terrain or a sense of which side is which. He doesn’t think proper English is a good facilitator of rules.

If you paint or build terrain or study history or want to hang out with friends to have fun, then you aren’t serious enough for him. You will literally be escorted from the table.

If you want to dive into important combat considerations such as preplanning what your truck driver is going to do 5 turns in advance or whether a soldier has placed his entrenching tool out of reach while diving for cover, then you may be a candidate to play with him. You need to never crack a smile, but sit pensively and ponder how wonderfully the rules simulate the uninteresting and inconsequential details of battle.
