I've seen various other minis sold for this or that. It was usually dodgy bloodbowl ones, or Mordheim.

Years ago, I saw this WotC ChainmailOrc Berserker listed and sold more than once for over $20 as a limited edition Citadel Chaos Warrior. Granted it's been OOP for almost 20 years, but it's still ubiquitous for less than $10 and not the most popular sculpt, compared with the Orc Trooper and Gangfighter.

There certainly are some strange bidders on eBay, I believe some are in it for the "hunter instinct" buzz!

I have noticed, that female figures sell, even if still in production....no surprise there though! Do people just not do research of what is still available?

I must start titling my eBay listings a bit more ambiguously, might get things sold!

Saying that, I have done well selling off my duplicate copies of Conquest!

Seller could claim he/she didn't know...

I've won a few Marauder figures for cheap, as the seller thought these were from another manufacturer. Twenty years ago, I'd have messaged him/her about the error, but now I can't be bothered if they can't research the provenance.

It's fraud if it's a knockoff/recast or bait and switch or you don't receive the item.

That's usually the the excuse with such sellers.

The buyers, though, can easily put in a claim through ebay or paypal if they realise it. The usual "significantly not as described" one should do it.
