The sovereign citizen Malcolm Ieuan Roberts is a particularly 'special' individual, even for Queensland politics.

My wife recently checked her citizenship status and was very surprised to discover she is a dual national. Having been born and raised in Australia by parents who were both Australian citizens, it was rather odd to discover that a technicality due to her mother's place of birth would have such an interesting legal effect.

YES vote for marriage equality 61.6%. Australia might finally join the 21st Century. Of course the usual suspects are fighting a desperate rear guard action to derail the legislation/ institute new forms of legal discrimination.

Thnak goodness - with pretty consistent vote across the country, apart from rural QLD of course....

As for LNP - yep, the old right to be a bigot approach because it's ok to be so when you are religious or non "PC".

And as if the day couldn't get any better the High Court disqualifies Holly Hughes from serving in the Senate cos dear old George gave her one of the jobs for the boys/girls. Own goal!

I reckon there's a future for Malcolm and George managing Ireland or maybe Italy's national foitball squads.

If only Turnbull hadn't made us pay for, and go through all the hassle of, an unnecessary postal survey all so that he could avoid standing up to his own party and doing the job we pay him for.
Talk about spineless.
But no doubt, after making the tax payer pay his way out of any possible negative blow back from this result, he'll try and cast himself as a hero to the homosexual community over this.

Still, I'd love to see how Tony Abbott is taking the good news.
